GauVendi vs. hotel booking engines: what changes?

Imagine a guest looking for a quiet room with a walk-in shower. You have several that would suit them, spread across different PMS categories. Can your website find those rooms, turn them into a relevant offer and deliver the stay the guest has chosen?

That is the question to bring to a booking-engine demonstration. A good-looking checkout matters, but the commercial opportunity starts with what the system allows you to sell.

What Dynamic Inventory changes

GauVendi separates the physical room from the product the guest books. One room can support several offers, and an offer can be fulfilled by several suitable rooms. The system connects these products to shared availability, pricing rules and room assignment.

That gives your hotel more ways to meet demand without adding rooms. A guest who needs quiet can receive a relevant recommendation. Another can choose a lower-priced flexible offer and leave more freedom over room assignment. The confirmed features and conditions remain part of the promise to each guest.

The guest does not need to understand the inventory model or compare every room. GauVendi matches what they want to what you can actually deliver.

ABS is a sales technique. Dynamic Inventory is the foundation.

GauVendi supports attribute-based selling (ABS): guests can choose and pay for room features that matter to them. Dynamic Inventory goes further by separating the physical room from the products you sell. ABS is one way to sell through that model.

The same eligible room can be offered through a guest-selected feature combination, a recommended stay, a package or a flexible offer. These products draw on shared availability. The guest can buy a stay that fits, and the hotel can fulfil it through a suitable room assignment.

Look beyond an upsell button

For a hotel or apartment operator comparing upselling tools, ask how the system finds the right offer. Can it match the guest’s needs to eligible rooms across categories? Can those rooms support different products and packages, each with its own pricing and conditions? GauVendi connects those decisions to the inventory behind the sale. That creates more opportunities to sell a relevant stay before the guest has settled for a category.

What GauVendi adds to your PMS

Your PMS manages hotel operations. GauVendi adds the commercial product layer: creating different sellable products from the same rooms, managing product descriptions and images, and connecting room features to pricing, availability and assignment. Your team can present the same room as a family stay or a quiet retreat, with the content and conditions that fit each product.

Can we build our own booking interface or connect our chosen AI?

Yes. You can adapt the front end to your brand and booking journey, or build your own website, app or AI assistant. GauVendi’s Dynamic Inventory remains the core: the product, pricing and availability foundation behind your customer experience. This is headless hotel booking with control over how you sell.

Through GauVendi’s Partner Hub, you as the operator can connect ChatGPT or Claude to your Dynamic Inventory. Describe what you want to create: your AI can work with authorised products, room features, prices and availability. Open REST APIs and MCP (Model Context Protocol) connections provide the underlying access. You bring the idea; your AI helps build it on GauVendi’s product and inventory foundation.

Your front end shapes how guests shop. Dynamic Inventory changes what you can sell. An API connected to a category catalogue still sells categories; a filter only narrows that list. GauVendi makes the same physical room sellable as different products, each with relevant features, content, pricing and conditions. Dynamic matching connects those products to the guest’s needs, travel dates and booking context, using real availability. Shared inventory and smart assignment connect the sale to a room that fulfils the promise. Your website, app or chosen AI can build on this foundation: the right product for the right guest, at the right time and in the right context.

For your IBE or CRS comparison, ask: can our own website or AI assistant sell different products from the same rooms, with feature pricing and shared availability? Ask the supplier to demonstrate that through its APIs.

Where HotelNetSolutions, Mirai, easybooking and DIRS21 fit

Modern booking engines already offer more than a basic room list. HotelNetSolutions OnePageBooking includes packages and upgrades. Mirai describes conversational recommendations and bookings, including payment.

DIRS21 One documents preferred-room selection and an occupancy optimizer. easybooking JULIA combines room categories, rates, restrictions and additional services. These capabilities belong in a fair evaluation.

GauVendi's case rests on the inventory model behind the sale: creating different bookable products from the same physical capacity, matching them to demand, and fulfilling them through room assignment. A feature called recommendation, room selection or upselling does not establish that whole workflow. Ask to see it operate with your own inventory.

Put the same booking through each system

Start with a guest request that crosses your current categories. Ask the supplier to show which rooms qualify, what the guest is offered and how the price is calculated.

Then sell an offer that shares eligible rooms with another offer. Check that both draw on the same real capacity, and that accepting one booking changes what can still be sold.

Finally, change the booking picture. Can room assignments be adjusted while keeping every confirmed feature and any fixed-room constraint? Can the system explain which request went unfulfilled and why? That connects the sales promise to the work your hotel must do after checkout.

What the results show

GauVendi reports +20% average revenue uplift per property and 7.7% look-to-book conversion across its portfolio. Those averages describe the wider portfolio; individual property records explain the choices behind particular outcomes.

At a 49-unit country hotel, ten PMS categories became 81 products. At a 110-unit pod hostel, two categories became 33. The published records show paid preferences, guest booking patterns and separate accommodation and extras figures. Explore property results.

Is GauVendi also a CRS replacement?

Yes. GauVendi replaces a traditional hotel central reservation system (CRS) and booking engine with a Sales Operating Platform built around Dynamic Inventory. It manages sellable products, pricing, direct sales and distribution. Your PMS continues to run hotel operations.

Distribution is delivered through Flexi-Channel and supported integrations. The channel-manager setup and the contracts you can retire should be agreed for your property. See how GauVendi fits with your PMS, RMS and channel manager.

Bring your rooms to the conversation

Use actual guest requests, room features and booking patterns in the demonstration. Compare revenue after acquisition costs, booking value, conversion and reservation work over a consistent period. Product count is useful evidence of flexibility; the business result is what makes the investment worthwhile.

GauVendi uses a monthly subscription, with no booking commission or revenue share. See current pricing, or book an initial call to work through your property's inventory.

Competitor descriptions are based on the linked suppliers' public documentation reviewed on 5 September 2026. The workflow questions are an evaluation framework, not a claim that an undocumented capability is absent.
