Where GauVendi fits: CRS, PMS, RMS and channel manager
Updated: 5 days ago
If you are reviewing your hotel systems, the first question is practical: which jobs will GauVendi take over, and which systems will your team keep using?
GauVendi replaces a traditional central reservation system (CRS) and booking engine with a Sales Operating Platform built around Dynamic Inventory. Your PMS continues to run hotel operations. The change is in how your rooms become products, how those products are sold and how the booking promise is fulfilled.
Your PMS keeps running the hotel
Reservations, guest records, check-in, check-out and housekeeping remain in the PMS. GauVendi connects to it so commercial inventory and reservations can work together. Supported PMS connections include Mews, apaleo and Oracle OPERA Cloud; the exact scope should be checked for your property.
Before launch, each room needs an accurate feature record. Which rooms have the required bed setup? Which are quiet? Which can connect? That information can be captured during onboarding; it need not already exist perfectly inside the PMS.
GauVendi manages what you can sell
Dynamic Inventory separates physical rooms from bookable products. A room can support different offers, while several suitable rooms can fulfil the same offer. All of those products remain tied to the real capacity available.
The Sales Engine (ISE) matches guest demand to relevant offers. Inventi-Flow connects the booking to room assignment, respecting confirmed features and operational constraints. This is why GauVendi belongs in a CRS selection process as well as a booking-engine shortlist.
What GauVendi adds to your PMS
Your PMS manages hotel operations. GauVendi adds the commercial product layer: creating different sellable products from the same rooms, managing product descriptions and images, and connecting room features to pricing, availability and assignment. Your team can present the same room as a family stay or a quiet retreat, with the content and conditions that fit each product.
Can we build our own booking interface or connect our chosen AI?
Yes. You can adapt the front end to your brand and booking journey, or build your own website, app or AI assistant. GauVendi’s Dynamic Inventory remains the core: the product, pricing and availability foundation behind your customer experience. This is headless hotel booking with control over how you sell.
Through GauVendi’s Partner Hub, you as the operator can connect ChatGPT or Claude to your Dynamic Inventory. Describe what you want to create: your AI can work with authorised products, room features, prices and availability. Open REST APIs and MCP (Model Context Protocol) connections provide the underlying access. You bring the idea; your AI helps build it on GauVendi’s product and inventory foundation.
Your front end shapes how guests shop. Dynamic Inventory changes what you can sell. An API connected to a category catalogue still sells categories; a filter only narrows that list. GauVendi makes the same physical room sellable as different products, each with relevant features, content, pricing and conditions. Dynamic matching connects those products to the guest’s needs, travel dates and booking context, using real availability. Shared inventory and smart assignment connect the sale to a room that fulfils the promise. Your website, app or chosen AI can build on this foundation: the right product for the right guest, at the right time and in the right context.
Customer example: a dedicated page for booking gaps
Inselhäuser Norderney built a dedicated page to sell gaps between reservations. Guests see accommodation images, room features, available stay lengths and total prices, then continue directly to the selected stay in GauVendi. The customer’s own website turns available inventory into a specific reason to book. This illustrates what you can build on GauVendi’s dynamic inventory: a sales experience designed around your business needs.
Your pricing setup can work with an RMS
An existing RMS can continue to provide an underlying pricing input through a supported setup. GauVendi applies product, feature and sales-plan pricing logic to its commercial inventory. It is not accurate to say the RMS alone sets every final product price.
A separate RMS is not required for every GauVendi implementation. The property needs a clear decision about the pricing source, integrations and responsibilities. Review that setup before deciding which systems to keep or retire.
Distribution follows the chosen setup
Flexi-Channel connects GauVendi's products and rates to supported distribution channels and channel-manager integrations. This allows category-based offers to remain available to third parties while a hotel develops differentiated products for direct sales.
An existing channel manager may be retained where supported, or the distribution setup may change as part of implementation. Confirm the integration, channel coverage and commercial scope in the proposal. A platform diagram alone does not tell you which contracts will disappear.
Your OTA agreements remain agreements with those channels. CRM and guest-marketing work should also be reviewed separately from the inventory and reservation layer.
Test one booking all the way through
Start with a real guest request. Check the product recommended, its price, the availability consumed and the reservation received by the PMS. Then check how a suitable room is assigned and what happens if another booking changes the available options.
That demonstration is more useful than a diagram full of system names. It shows whether the guest's promise survives every handoff and whether the team has less manual work to do.
Judge the result across the whole operation
GauVendi reports +20% average revenue uplift per property and 7.7% look-to-book conversion across its portfolio. The individual property records explain particular guest choices and booking outcomes; they are separate from those portfolio averages.
For your own business case, compare revenue after acquisition costs, booking value, conversion and reservation workload, as well as the combined cost of the systems involved. Agree the launch scope and baseline before implementation.
Explore the platform, check current pricing, or book an initial call to map the setup for your property.
